Demand Generation

Innovative program to build awareness, consideration, and engagement

At Freescale (now NXP) while working as a senior integrated marketing manager for the Microcontroller Division, we needed a way to creatively grow business opportunities and market share.

Activity:

  • Created and documented the first-ever design
    challenge

  • Hired well-respected industry leader (Joe Grand) to lead
    the judging panel

  • Partnered with key stakeholders to create online learning, materials and judging criteria

  • Built an online portal for participants to obtain and upload materials

  • Managed campaign to build awareness of the design challenge including helpful videos, effective ad. campaign, media outreach,
    social and community efforts

Results:

  • Thousands of engineers experimented with technology and more than 50 contributed to social media

  • Finalists attended the Freescale Technology Forum and virtual events to be recognized and inspire other customers

  • Built awareness over three years with more than 50 media mentions/coverage and finalists’ videos with thousands of views. Press and finalist video examples

  • Drove new prospects (775) with the first Americans challenge and then more than 10,000 with global annual challenges

  • Grew market share by 3%

Janelle Monney, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, recognized me in front of my peers for developing a unique program that engaged prospects and grew market share.

“I work with Nicole in coordinating universities, educators, and students to participate in the Designing with Freescale Seminar Series she manages. Nicole has done an outstanding job in supporting my efforts to better align universities with customers with respect to technology use. Her organizational skills and passion for what she does are certainly among the key assets in Nicole's skill set.”
